Is anyone here watching the football World Cup this year? If so, who are you supporting? And who do you think's gonna win?

I don't tend to watch much of it, but I may watch a couple of England games...

Football is indeed an English sport. Furthermore, it has a much better claim to the name "football" than gridiron :P..ooh, while on the whole UK-US thing, England play the USA in their first group match this saturday. Might try to watch that one for sure :P...also wouldn't mind seeing some teams like New Zealand or Honduras play..

Some matches have been played, I'm not even going to try to write down any group tables because a) they'll have probably changed by the time most people read them, what with there being 3 matches per day so far, and b) I simply can't be bothered right now :P.
Of the teams being predicted as world cup contenders, Germany, Argentina, Netherlands and Brazil are the only teams that have impressed me so far. There are some other teams I've seen that impressed me too (New Zealand, Switzerland, North Korea especially played with some heart and pretty good sportsmanship too actually), as well as a mass of teams that haven't played so well :P (England, Spain, Italy, South Africa)..
So, is there anyone else watching any games of this tournament? And if so, what do you think?

Well, England are pretty dire yes...I would report on Wales' progress too if they were in this competition, but as usual they failed to make it past the European group stage :P..

Well, back onto teams that are in the world cup (i.e. not Wales :P), France have just lost 2-0 to Mexico. This means there is a good chance they will fail to make it past the group stage.

Damn, they weren't that far away from making it out of their group :P..nor were New Zealand who finished above the reigning champions Italy..Argentina looks like a pretty good bet. As does Brazil. And Germany, they have that rather annoying habit of beating teams in an efficient manner and before you know it they're easily in the semis.. :P
