I thought as a forum if each person contributed the most amazing site building, whatever they have seen while travelling until we had a definitive list of 100 things to see before you die, please don't repeat someone else's.

I considered a lot of things for mine, but it has to be Bird Island in the Seychelles I think. The number of birds was enormous, and they had giant tortoises there, some of which are 400 years old. Yeah I only have one picture online, it's not the best but oh well.

I feel that you dont understand just how enormous these wind turbines are until you are directly under one with it spinning in 50 MPH wind :p

Just visit one within your lifetime :) All are pretty much the same but still ... they look slow and small from the highway but when u get close they are going really fast and are really REALLY HUGE in real life.

I think it's in scandinavia.
Amazing indeed Mitch, they are!

Another worth-while visiting building is definitely more than just a building...
The new Acropolis Museum as of less than a week, it's officially open and I have heard the best from all around the world.

I think so.
Now as far as the old one, I believe the comparison can't be made, the new one is literally a new (closer to the original) perspective

I don't know, I find it hard to see any particular site in Greece is worth seeing. I've been to most of the famous ones on a tour of Greece, The temple of Apollo at Delphi is very impressive as well, or the Temple of Zeus, although very little remains of it.

Of course if you include Crete the ruins of Knossos are pretty extensive as well.

Well then what, in your opinion, is the greatest country/city everyone MUST see before they die?

Fenriz

Well I posted the Seychelles first at the top, truly amazing place, but it doesn't have any cities. If i was to pick a city I have visited, it would easily be Hong Kong, I loved it there, there is so much to see and explore, and the cultures and religions are very different from what I am used to, which made it even more fascinating.

if you want to go some where and want to be treated like royalty, i suggest Dubai, the most AMAZING place i have ever been to, and the most luxurious as well.

this is going to sound like im really boasting and being snobbish, i dont normally go on holidays like this every year so dont worry :P

but when we landed, are bags where collected, we where taken to rolls royce phantom which was waiting outside, our bags where put in the boot for us, when we got in the car there where ice cold towels and bottles of ice cold water.

in the hotel there where just people standing around with plates of ice cold towels, when you went down for dinner maids would come into your room and take all the pillows and 'for show' duvets and fold them up and put them on the floor and prepare your bed. they even had a pillow menu!!! i didnt even realise how many pillow types you could get.

in the hotel the staff out numbered the guest!!
put it this way, i held open a door for one of the staff, he looked at me in shock and laughed. normally if your walking down a corridor and one of the hotel staff is walking towards you, they will stand to the side and wait for you to walk past, even if there is clearly enough room for both of you to walk down the corridor.

so if you want to go somewhere and feel like a celebrity go there, no where else i have ever been rivals it

is there anything particularly impressive to see there other than the hotels though?

Umbie remember views are free but a Rolls Royce Phantom and staffed hotel costs monies.

the desert in dubai is pretty cool, dubai isnt built on natural beauty, so they made there own. Most of dubai is the architecture of the buildings and the amount of aminities they have. If you want to go somehwere breathtaking climb a mountain........

The rock cliffs by the oceans in Newfoundland and Labrador are very nice, and on my side of my country, I think it's absolutely breathtaking to see the area around Hope when it's rainy and misty. It's in the middle of the mountains, so you're surrounded by green trees and rock faces as far as you can see, and the mist and clouds come and it actually gets a sorta Silent Hill feel if you have the right music to it, haha.

How do they sustain it underwater?

PancakesXD

They evacuated it and then they relesed the water into the gorge and so all there is left is a time capsule and buildings

There is a town in Western Kansas that is underwater as well. a damn broke and the town was in a basin so it was underwater in a short period of time. My aunt remembers visiting the town before it got turned into Atlantis ;p it is now a State park and lake.
